Groups & Committees

Faith and Bible Studies

Sunday School- Sunday school meets at 9:00 a.m. September-May. The three classes are grouped by age: Elementary, Middle/High School, and Adult.

Women’s Circle Groups- The Afternoon Circle and Evening Circle each meet once monthly for a time of fellowship, study, and discussion. Check the calendar for specific meeting times.

Fellowship

W.I.L.D. O.N.E.S.- Fun and educational outings held for retired members and friends. Events have included trips to the Denver Art Museum, the Abbey of St. Walburga, and the Liberty Puzzle Factory.

Game Night- Held select Friday evenings (see calendar) to play Bridge and other games. Don’t forget to b.y.o.s (bring your own sandwich)!

Dutch Brunch- All are invited to a different local restaurant one Sunday each month for lunch following the morning service. Everyone pays their own tab. Listen for details in the Sunday announcements.

Service

Prayer Shawl Ministry- Part of the nationwide Prayer Shawl Ministry that provides shawls for those in need of comfort, who are celebrating a special event, or “just because”. We also create Twiddlemuffs for those dealing with dementia. This group generally meets the second and fourth Saturday of each month to knit, crochet, and bless the shawls.

2nd Mile- Meets the first and third Monday of the month to complete sewn projects for various missions and various projects as needed. Projects have included diaper bags and baby quilts for the Larimer County Health Department and lap robes for nursing homes.

Banners Team- Works with the Worship Committee to create and rotate the banners that adorn the sanctuary according to the Church calendar.

Committees

Archives- Works to preserve the history of our church by collecting and maintaining photographs, articles, and other relevant documents.

Buildings & Grounds- Ensures that the buildings, grounds, and equipment of TPC are maintained at all times and repaired or replaced when needed. The committee works with the pastor in supervising the use of the facilities.

Christian Education- Creates and administers programs for all ages which will help the members and friends of TPC: to develop their relationship to Jesus Christ, to grow in their understanding of the Christian faith, and to live as faithful disciples in the world.

Concerns- A source of help, sympathy, compassion and comfort within the church that takes on many of the traditional roles of the deacons.

Congregational Life- Responsible for promoting fellowship within the church by developing and coordinating events which help members and friends develop and maintain strong camaraderie.  The events are designed to encourage members and friends of the church to participate actively in the life of the church.

Events include: Hineni Award, Easter Breakfast, Annual Ice Cream Social, Dutch Brunches, and Game Nights

Finance- Oversees the finances of TPC, reviews the work of the church treasurer and the church financial secretary, and encourages a healthy stewardship by the members and friends of the TPC.

Memorial Fund Sub-Committee- Encourages memorial giving in honor of deceased members, family, and friends. The sub-committee determines appropriate use for such gifts, oversees spending of memorial funds for such purposes, and recognizes the givers and honorees.

Memorial Garden & Columbarium- A group formed in 2007 to plan, construct, develop policies, and operate a Memorial Garden at TPC. To see the history, policies, and an application form, click here.

Mission- Promotes both the local and worldwide mission of TPC by proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ; inviting people into a lifetime of Christian discipleship and nurture; sharing from the abundance of material wealth which God has given to us; caring for those in our world who have emotional, physical and spiritual needs; and bringing people into the fellowship and ministry of the church.

Nominating- Responsible for finding replacements for those session members who are about to finish their call as Elder.

Personnel- Provides support for effective working relationships between the pastor, church staff, session, committees, and the congregation as a whole.

Session- The body of elected elders governing each local church within Presbyterian polity.

Welcoming and Outreach- Ensures all visitors to the church feel welcome. Available to answer questions if they would like to consider this their home church. Promotes the mission of the church to the community and the surrounding area.

Worship- Responsible for all aspects of worship at TPC so that the members and friends of the church are able to worship God, to hear God’s Word proclaimed, to life up to God the concerns of our lives, and to offer our lives to the service and glory of God.
