Reverend Matthew J. Webber, ThM
Pastor Matt comes to Timnath Presbyterian Church from Berthoud, CO by way of New Jersey and Michigan. A native to Colorado, Matthew attended Colorado State University where he majored in Speech Communication and was a member of the Track and Field team as a Decathlete before heading east to Princeton Theological Seminary for Master of Divinity Studies. Upon Graduation, Matthew was ordained as Associate Pastor at the First Presbyterian Church of Holland, MI. While there, he attended Calvin Theological Seminary, earning his Master of Theology degree. In addition, Matthew served on various committees at the presbytery level, focusing on Christian Education and ministry for all ages. After serving as Associate Pastor for over five years, he returned to Colorado to serve as the pastor of Timnath Presbyterian Church.
With a passion for the Gospel, Rev. Webber loves digging into deep theological issues while at the same time working to live out the Good News in every sermon and every interaction inside and outside the church. It is his vision that the role of Pastor is a “Theologian in the Pulpit” combined with the willingness to serve. This includes teaching not only with words, but with actions and joining alongside members walking in faith and fellowship.
These days, when not around the church, Matthew still enjoy running as well as keeping fit by rowing and cycling. He enjoys reading a good fiction book in addition to theology and watching a good mystery or comedy movie. He also spends time outdoors, enjoying the magnificence of God’s creation and cheering for the CSU Rams and Broncos.
