Children’s Ministry

1. Children’s Blessing (all God’s children) - Families with children are important to TPC! During all worship services, children are invited to come to the front for a blessing and/or message, before exiting for any of the programs, below.
2. Roots Nursery (for 0 – 3 years) in the Roots Room, all year long. (All year long) during all worship services, after the Children’s Blessing, ‘wee sheep’ are welcome in our Children’s Ministry Nursery space Roots Room Nursery, across from the TPC kitchen. The nursery is staffed by two, unrelated, trained, background-checked, adult volunteers who have been background-checked. A Bible story, craft, snack and activities are provided for your children in the nursery. Toys and furniture are sanitized regularly. On ‘First Family Sundays’/Communion Sundays (first Sunday of each month) Communion is provided in the Roots Room for volunteers and children.

Parents are welcome to accompany their children to the nursery to help with their child’s adjustment. There is also a Family Restroom adjacent to the nursery that is available.

3. Young Children & Worship (for 4 – 12 years) in the south room of TPC Fellowship Hall, *Sept – May. After the Children’s Blessing in worship, children, ages 4-12 are invited to Young Children & Worship (‘YC&W’), a Montessori-styled children’s church, held in the south room of Fellowship Hall. YC&W is a worship-space for children to hear and respond to God’s word at their level. Trained, background-checked, Storytellers and Greeters help our children hear and engage with a Bible story in a way that is appropriate to their age,. YC&W also offers kids free, creative time to do a craft, color, engage with wooden story materials and share a “feast” (snack) together. Children are picked up by their family at the end of the service in the YC&W space.
4. ‘First Family Sunday’ and *Communion Sunday are the first Sunday of each month.  Kids (0 – 3 years) can go to the Roots Nursery.  Kids (4 – 12 years) stay in the pews with their families to enjoy the Roots of TPC Worship for Kids bulletins, Kids’ Worship Clipboards with activity sheets & yellow pew doodle sheets. *Communion of bread & juice may be received by visitors of all ages and experiences. 
5. Play Doh Prayers (Summer/June - August), after the Children’s Blessing in worship, children, for ages 4-12.  Accompanied by a trained, background-checked adult to the narthex (church vestibule/entry area), kids interact with the same Scripture as adults through art, Play Doh, drawing and activity sheets.
