Cary Mathis

The little church with a big heart!

Since June of 1996, Cary has been a Professional Youth and Christian Education Minister in the United Methodist, Lutheran (ELCA), and Presbyterian Churches.  He has taken middle and high school youth on 24 mission trips during that time, on four continents, including two trips to the Holy Land.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Pastoral Ministry in May of 1996 from Greenville College, now Greenville University in Illinois.  After graduating, he attended Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky for two years while serving part time as as a Youth and Associate Pastor at a Methodist church in Westchester Ohio.

In 2008 he earned his Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs and taught in Denver Public Schools soon after.

He loves serving at Timnath Presbyterian Church because of the amazing people.  They are not perfect, but they demonstrate God’s love in the most tangible way he has ever known.

He will be marrying Kristen Pederson of Loveland in August of 2020, and is the proud step father to four amazing daughters.

He likes to hike, camp, read and bike in his spare time.
